Code Of Conduct/Chatiquette
Please take a moment to read the sMeet code of conduct in detail. We ask that all users adhere to this code of conduct while using sMeet.com. Failure to do so may result in expulsion from the sMeet community and, depending on the severity of the offense, may have further legal consequences.
sMeet also places particular emphasis on protecting underage users. With this in mind, please read our rules concerning the protection of minors.
1. You are required to abide by applicable laws when using sMeet, just like in real life. This means that you need to behave in line with the terms and conditions of sMeet Communications GmbH. We will not tolerate racism, violence, political or religious extremism, sexism, drugs, pornography or discrimination being discussed or promoted on our website. Threatening, verbal abuse or slander of individuals and groups is strictly prohibited and failure to abide by this can lead to legal ramifications.
2. Treat other sMeeters with respect and be polite. If you behave like this, most people will be respectful and polite to you in return. Therefore insults and harrassment on smeet.com will be not be tolerated.
3. Swearing in the underage chat rooms is completely forbidden. Coarse language in the +18 room will be tolerated in moderation. However, swearing directly at other users in any room, and being offensive will result in your removal from sMeet.
4. When you enter the chat room for the first time, we advise you to take time to evaluate what the atmosphere is like, and what constitutes as appropriate topics and behaviour. This helps build a good relationship with other users, and avoid confrontation.
5. Nobody likes being pestered with spam, this includes chain letters and lotteries. That’s why it is forbidden to organise and send spam within sMeet.com.
6. All users have the right to decide who they want to be in contact with, and who they want to block. You have to accept others’ decisions, when they tell you that they do not wish to have any contact with you. If someone is constantly harassing you after being repeatedly warned, then please make a screenshot of their comments and turn to an operator (OP) or) Administrator (admin) for support. In most cases, you should write an email to support [at] smeet.com describing the issue in detail with an attached screenshot. We can then take appropriate action.
7. Don’t harrass someone into sending you personal information, this includes their telephone number/email address/msn etc. If that person wants to speak with you on the telephone, they will openly give you their number. But that person will reach that conclusion in their own time. Maybe it will never happen.
8. If someone is misbehaving in the chat and using offensive language, don’t respond aggressively. Should the person continue to disrupt the chat, please approach an OP or Administrator for assistance, as there are there to help you.
9. When people chat, they’re normally fun and full of humour. But everyone has a different sense of humour, and what you find totally hilarious can make others feel uncomfortable. It’s important to realise that written language can be totally misunderstood when you compare it to spoken language, and it can be hard to communicate things like sarcasm or irony in written text. Keeping this in mind, be careful that your chats can’t be misconstrued.
10. You don’t want to be deceived by fake profiles. All details that you enter concerning yourself at sMeet.com have to be truthful. The same rule applies for your picture.
11. Pictures at sMeet.com cannot display victims of war, violence or natural disasters. Unconstitutional symbols, motives that glorify violence and all forms of pornography are also forbidden.
